Main features of flowkey
Flowkey is a multi-platform application. You can download the app to both Android and Apple devices, or use your Windows\Chrome based laptop.
Piano lessons. Flowkey offers courses from beginner to advanced level. These are easy to follow videos. Progress is tracked and visible at each course.
Over 1500 songs to play. A very fancy catalog of music is available with all major genres, from classics to pop. The user can listen to these, mark them favorites or enter the score. At this point the screen gets split in half, on the upper part we see the piano keys, below the score. As we play, the keys get highlighted, helping to find the right keys.
Different playing modes. Playing mode can be adjusted according the experience level of the user. Apart from Slow mode (50% or 75% of the original tempo) and Fast mode (original tempo), the most interesting setting is the Wait mode. In this the app will listen to the play and adjusts the speed accordingly, waiting for you in the score scrolling, if necessary.
Practice can be separated focusing on left, right or both hands. Also, a certain section of the music can be selected and practiced repeatedly.
Works with built in microphone, Bluetooth or cable connection. The app is able to use the microphone of the device you are using, this way there is no need for cable connection. If for some reason this does not work reliably (e.g. noisy environment) the Bluetooth or cable connection is still available.
The application has modern and well-designed user interface, it is easy to navigate, easy to understand.
